The cemetery never closes, so you can easily access the World Heritage when you prefer, throughout the year.
More than 2,000 funeral ceremonies take place at the Skogskyrkogården each year. This means that the five chapels are in frequent use and therefore closed to the public. If you are interested in the chapels and their interiors, come along for a public guided tour or book a private tour. We also have audio and visitor’s guides, which you can download prior to your visit.

You can book a private guided tour throughout the year (available in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German and Japanese) through Stockholm City Museum by sending an e-mail to email@example.com or calling +46 8 508 316 20.
Take the green metro line towards Farsta Strand, get off at the Skogskyrkogården station. Travel time is 14 minutes from T-Centralen. Exit and turn right and you’ll reach the main entrance 100 meters down the road (Sockenvägen).
There is a public bus service (no 183) on the site, leaving every 30 minutes from outside the metro station with several stops inside the cemetery. Please note that the service varies during the year — consult the timetable available at the metro station or visit sl.se.
Facilities and accessibility
Toilets and parking spaces are marked on a map.
The toilets at the Visitor Center are only available during the center’s opening hours.
Photographer or film producer
All commercial photo and film shoots require a permit. We encourage individual visitors to document the UNESCO World Heritage of Skogskyrkogården under the condition that they show the greatest respect for grieving visitors as well as ongoing ceremonies and burials. #skogskyrkogarden
