Have a coffee at Visitors center
Visitors center is open around All Saints’ Day:
- Friday, November 3 at 11am—5pm
- Saturday, November 4 at 11am—8pm
- Sunday, November 5 at 11am–5pm.
At Visitors center, you can have a coffee, eat a simple lunch, and visit the exhibition about the world heritage site.
Walk, cycle or take public transport
As many people visit Skogskyrkogården around All Saints’ Day it can easily get crowded. It is best to walk, cycle or take public transport. If possible, avoid travel here at peak hours.
If you are taking the subway from the city center, it is recommended to get off at Sandsborg and walk through Sandsborg cemetery to relieve the Skogskyrkogården subway station. Alternatively, take bus 161 which runs between Älvsjö and Kärrtorp via Skogskyrkogården.
Bus 183 runs in a circular route inside Skogskyrkogården for those who have difficulty walking.
Closed for traffic on Saturday after 10 am
Skogskyrkogården is completely closed to car traffic on Saturday, November 4 from 10am—9am (except for taxis and special transport). Before 10am and after 9 pm, it is possible to drive onto the area by car.
Put candles with a distance
When placing grave candles, it is important to keep them at a distance from each other and far away from trees and bushes to avoid fire hazards.
Bring a flashlight
It is dark at Skogskyrkogården in November so bring a flashlight to make it easier to find the grave or graves you want to visit.
